Online Universities?

I would really like to go back to school to get a degree but due to the fact that we're a military family and i'm a stay aat home mom of very young children i've been thinking about doing my classes online. I'm still a bit apprehensive of this approach and am looking for any input either from someone with personal experience or that knows someone with experience. My main questions are

1) Is an online university as valued as regular universities as far as potential employers are concerned?

2) I am looking into Ashford Universitiy online and Kaplan University online, are there any other reccomendations or information about online unviversities?

3) What should I look for in terms of accreditation and how do I find out if a school is accreditited?

Lastly does this sound like a good move for me or do you think it would be better if I just waited to get to our next duty station and attend campus classes at a university there?

Online Universities?
Online education is now embraced as an alternative way of acquiring that much needed education. And because of the demand, there are alot of fake colleges (diploma mills) that have mushroomed on the internet and you have to be very careful when selecting an online college.

Employers view online education as credible as traditional college, for as long as you get it from an accredited college.

Find out why college accreditation is important to your education and how you can check if a college of your interest is accredited:

2) You should look at local universities. They usually offer online classes. You can take these and work on a degree from them, or try to transfer them to another school (possible unlike at places like UoP, DeVry, etc) and is usually cheaper.

(One example being University of Missouri)

3) You want a university that is accredited by its regional accreditation commission. One way to find the appropriate group it to check the nearest state university to see who accredits them.
