Wii online??

Ok, I'm thinking of getting a thing to get my Wii to connect online. But I'm not sure all you can with it online. I know you can play against other players online, and have Mii Parades. lol. but what else can you do with your wii online?? thanks.

My Wii is connected online, and I use it to download Virtual Console games, check the news and weather, and look at other Miis that people have created. I don't have the Internet browser because I have a computer at home (two, in fact) and don't see the point in having another one. You can also communicate with friends who have a Wii via an email-type system, but it's only Wii-to-Wii.





Wii Points are currency to buy VC games. $1 buys you 100 points. You can get the cards at the store and input the number into your Wii, or you can use your credit card to buy points directly from your Wii. I'd recommend going to http://www.nintendo.com to see their list of VC games to see if there are any classics you want to buy.
Reply:well, I'll start by saying, the best thing about the Wii online is the store, it's pretty much all I use it for. you can buy new games,and that's all I really do with the online, if you're not willing to buy games, I don't suggest getting it online.





how to gets points:


there are two ways, you can either buy a Wii points card(at any store that sells wii's, you can buy only 2000 points, which is about $20 dollars worth of points) or you can buy them with a credit card straight from the wii shop channel.

you can surf the internet by buying the internet channel (500 wii points)


you can update your wii when nintendo releases new firmware updates


you can download new channels that nintendo is working on (wii ware games)


if you have brawl you get a new stage, picture and replay every day (these are deleted every day so you only have 1 day to view them)


you can send people messages and email people if you add them to you contact list





also if you're gonna buy something to get your wii online buy a wireless router or the lan adapter. don't buy those lame little usb adapters that you plug into your computer since your wii will lag if you play online. and you'll have slow downloads
