How to start an online dating site, or a profitable online business and be successful?

I'm interested in starting an online business that works. I would consider a dating site, casino site, or other websites that work. I would like to know how I can get stated. I have lots of online experiance. I have looked at many different companies that provide online dating, and casino sites built and read to run. How legit are they, and are their claims for success accurate? They average in price from $499-$12,000. I don't have a lot of money especially to throw away in a scam. What are my best options. I've done ebay, and a few of the online marketing scams that don't work. I'm billingual, English and Spanish, have a two year general degree working on my B.a in business management. I'm receptive to working with other people on a new idea that we can market online, have a few ideas myself just don't know how to get started, can someone lead me in the right direction?

How to start an online dating site, or a profitable online business and be successful?
Starting an online business is not at all a great deal!!! However making it profitable is the real challenge for any online marketer.If you want to make money online, that's great, but you need a system. You need to follow the strategies which are aleready tried n tested %26amp; are used by the champions who could make their fortune on the internet. Don't re-invent the wheel - don't make the mistake of wasting time and money in developing a product.Because you know nothing (I believe so) at the moment about internet marketing. So you must work with someone who can prove their system - be cautious and careful. You need to crawl first before you can walk or run - the best way to learn is to become an Affiliate Marketer. The main advantage with affiliate marketing is that -suppose the product you are promoting is not selling well due to some reason, you can drop that product %26amp; chose something else to sell.In short as an affiliate you are essentially a free-lance marketer - not bound by long-term contracts having a freedom to review / revise / remould your plans as per the demand in the market . (To see the changing demand in the market have a look at these http://buzzyahoo.notlong.com %26amp;

http://buzz-google.notlong.com )

There are lots of people out there there -- people just like you -- who are enjoying the financial freedom that comes with successful affiliate marketing.
Reply:I own a website on profitable home based business opportunities and have been in business for the past 10 months now. I have earned money from all the affiliate programs involved, but nothing to brag about so far. There are others who have quit their day jobs to do this same business fulltime or parttime from home! You must understand that it takes time, energy, and consistent effort and action. The person who replied first is totally correct in saying that you must have an understanding of internet marketing before jumping into anything.

That's why the program I'm in has been so great - it takes you through a 30-day process and teaches you how to market a business online.

We are told that linking to casino sites is a bad thing, as they are often seen as spam sites, but I guess there are successful people doing that as well.

I think the online dating business is a good route to go, but not until you have that internet marketing knowledge base, and I wouldn't know where to direct you there anyway.

With this program, the cost to join is minimal, but the advertising costs can be expensive, but you only do what you can afford at your own pace. The great thing about the program is that is you get a fully customizable website built for you within 24hrs ready to take orders as soon as you sign up. This is an internet marketing, online money making type system, but the fabulous thing is that your site is yours, and is fully customizable. You can use the 30-day program to your advantage to learn exactly what it takes to market a business online, and then change your site to whatever you want it to be - online dating, casino, or whatever you want it to be. This program will show you what you need to do to be successful at owning and maintaining an online business.

You must be willing to put some work into it and cannot expect to see results overnight. Anything that claims that is likely a scam. If you are willing to do the time, you will see results!

Check out my link, and see what you think!

Hope that helps,

Im thinking about doing online school,Is online schools/colleges real?

I was thinking about trying to do college online but I wanted to know if you really get a degree or not for online school.my friend said I shouldnt do it because he thinks its a scam.would I have to sign up to a online school thats in the same state as me?If I do pass and get a degree, how would I get it?Will they mail it to me or something?how expensive is online?can somebody please let me know and I also wanna know has anybody did online school and succeeded and got they degree?

Im thinking about doing online school,Is online schools/colleges real?
i took a course .. got a degree it is recognized i did a bunch or research in to it.. i also called around to places of employment to check and see if it was as well.. Devry institute of technology recognized the degree as well fas this school.. just do your research on it and make sure you check better business bureau before you decide on one.. call around and search the web.

and it was cheaper then taking it at a collage..
Reply:First, the standards for online Universities (i.e. University of Pheonix) are the same as those at traditional Universities. While some schools are "Scams" many others are actually accredited institutions of higher learning. Unfortunately the cost of online programs tends to be significantly higher than if you were to go to a college in person. Grading also tends to be a little bit tougher since the professor never actually meets you as he/she would under normal conditions. I will use my university as an example. Each class that I took in the classroom was $440. I took two classes online and each of those classes cost me $1060. These costs did not include books or lab fees.

I would highly recommend that you start at a community college if you are nearing college age. Don't take this negatively but there are marked weaknesses in your grammer skills. You will want to strengthen your weak areas before jumping into a full fledged university environment.

Best of luck.

Hi

There are a lot of legitimate online schools. You can go to one of these websites to look for online schools:

http://www.elearners.com/

http://www.colleges.com/

When dealing with online universities, you have to make sure they are legitimate. If you do decide to enroll at an online university, make sure that it is an accredited university and that the school's accreditation agency is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). You can also check the US Department of Education. Remember, just because a school states that it is accredited, does not mean that its accreditation agency is legitimate. Schools can make up their own accredition agencies and they can appear to be very legitimate. They will even use names that are similar to legitimate accreditation agencies to throw you off, so watch that as well. An example of one is Belford University. Belford University states that it is privately accredited. However, Belford University's accreditation agency is NOT recognized by CHEA. ANY legitimate accreditation agency in the U.S. is recognized by CHEA, and there are no private accreditation agencies (well at least any legitimate ones). If you attend a college that is not accredited, future employers most likely will not recognize your degree. In other words, your degree may be worthless.

Here is the CHEA website:

http://www.chea.org/default.asp

Here is some websites that will help you identify fake colleges:

http://www.online2college.com/online-col...

http://www.geteducated.com/services/dipl...

Online universities tend to be more expensive than traditional colleges. When you take online courses, you will have to do more work than in traditional, on-campus classes. Make sure you complete your assignments in a timely manner, because it is easy to get behind in an online class. Online courses may have the same level of difficulty as on-campus classes, if not harder. When you graduate, I believe they will mail your degree to you. You can try this website below to help you pick decent teachers at the school you eventually choose. Students from the school will rate teachers and write comments about them concerning their attitude, clarity, helpfulness, etc. It may have your school listed, but you may or may not find the teacher you are looking for on there:

http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/index.js...

I hope this helps you.
Reply:They are very real but do your research! There are some excellent online programs out there.
Reply:There are some fine schools that offer online degrees. Look for those colleges that have established physical campuses and also offer online programs. Also, make sure they are accredited. Don't be afraid to ask them for their credentials and for their hiring statistics post graduation. Good luck.
Reply:Just an addition to the accreditation saga - many places will take your aid without telling you the hours don't transfer anywhere useful, so do beware. For the record, be sure a school has "regional accreditation" - the best place, and source for most colleges, is www.collegesource.org. All major schools will fall under one of the US regions. If your school of interest isn't, don't count on the credits transferring to any other major public/private institution -- or your employer recognizing. As long as you do your research ahead of time, it should be smooth sailng from there.

For the record, we offer online degree programs at my institution -- and the faculty who teach online also teach on campus. None of this adjunct-for-hire randomness so many of the online-only school do :(
Reply:"Is online schools/colleges real?" 'Are' online schools.... some are, some aren't. You have to do some research and make sure the school you pick is legitimate. At a minimum it needs to be regionally accredited. For best results, it should be a college that has a campus somewhere and that people you know have heard of. Is Harvard University "real"? They teach online now.

"my friend said I shouldnt do it because he thinks its a scam" Harvard University, Stanford University, UC-Berkeley, Duke University, Florida State University, etc... all teach online now. Ask your friend if he thinks these too are a scam. If he does, he's ignorant. It's 2007 and real colleges are teaching online. Some scams are too so be careful what you find.

"would I have to sign up to a online school thats in the same state as me?" No, you can go to school in another country too if you want, the University of South Africa and University of London have online programs. You may have to pay out of state tuition if you're out of state though.

"If I do pass and get a degree, how would I get it?Will they mail it to me or something?" You can either attend commencement on campus or they will mail it to you, your choice.

"how expensive is online?" It can be as low as $5000 or as high as $100,000 and many in between. For the most part, if you pick a good school, it won't be any more or less than if you went to that school in person.

"has anybody did online school and succeeded and got they degree?" 'has anyone done...' My Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts (performing arts area of focus) was online. It was sufficient to get me into graduate school. The highest ranking sailor in the US Navy got his bachelor's degree at Excelsior College (online). http://www.navy.mil/navydata/bios/navybi...

Getting a degree from a reputable college online is the hard way to get a degree. Don't think this is the easy route, you will fail out if you go in thinking you'll skate through like you can at many in the classroom programs.

Which online college do you think is the best???

Between Kaplan University, Herzing College, AIU online and Phoenix online(Axis) Which do you think is the best online college??? Also alot of them have told me that when u get your degree, you get the same that there campuses do, that way it doesnt tell that you did it online........whats your opinion, do you think i can still get a job like that???

Which online college do you think is the best???
Of those, I believe Phoenix is the only one nationally accredited.

And the degrees are the same as the physical campuses.

Why are you online? what are you doing online?

Curiosity. Why are you online? Is it for work or nothing to do?

And when you go online, what do you do online?

What attract you to stay online other than go out with friends, family %26amp; lover?

Please help me, I'm doing a study on both Online and Offline people so please answer these questions for me. Thanks!

Why are you online? what are you doing online?
Right now Im bored, and I haven't been on the computer for awhile so I love Yahoo Answers. I love to find anything new, on the Internet to do. Some times I stay on it for 10 hours, it is a past time because im a very busy mom. So my down time is very important to me, and I look forward to doing what I want to do . Even if means sitting in front of this screen all day!

Online jobs that don't require experience in many fields?

My mother is a stay at home mom, and she wishes to make even a little bit of money working online. She is a mother of two, and soon to be three. Her husband is working two jobs, but one is in architecture, and the housing market...is crap to say the least. So he is being laid off so much, income isn't that great. So she wants to help out as much as she can. She doesn't get too much time to go online, and we were going to do online surveys, but since 99.9% of them, if not all are scams, we wanted to know what online jobs are reputable and don't have many requirements. So if any of you have suggestions, please give all you have.

And see if she's qualified enough to do

all in its own.

Good luck.

I only give sites that I've been paid by so you have my word that you won't get scammed. They're reliable and I've never had a problem with them. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)
Reply:You could try doing what I do. I run a few online stores selling jewelry and clothes. I don't actually make them lol I just signed up with a drop shipper (a wholesaler who ships products to your customers so you don't have to deal with shipping or actually holding anything in stock then I just used the templates my hosting company had for a store)

I make around $3-4k/month doing it, but I work around 5 hours a day to keep people coming to my stores. There's no real easy way of making a living online.

Anyway email me if you want any help and good luck :)

Why is online dating "bad"?

If you're careful and smart about who you date online, then how can it be so bad? Sure, people can lie online, but so can someone you met in real life. If you see your boyfriend on cam everyday and talk on the phone often, how is it different from meeting someone near you? Most people online are honest decent people. Almost everyone you know in real life uses some kind of messenger and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. People have fell in love online and when they met, they were just as in love. There is nothing wrong with dating online. I'm sorry if anyone else feels differently, but I'm sick of people saying "It's too risky" I am 100% sure that I can trust my boyfriend and no one can change my mind about that.

Why is online dating "bad"?
good on yer i also believe online dating is ok. there is a lot more you can discuss online than some can say face to face, %26amp; its easier to get to know a person, you can ask what you want, you enjoy it there is nowt wrong with it, ok some may say you dont know who or what people are BUT if you see them on cam %26amp; talk to them, HOW can they pretend to be someone else, when you have been talking to a person for a while then you DO get to know them,
Reply:Listen, the internet is a great place to meet people, but it has to move into the real world sooner rather than later or else your relationship will suffer. If HE does not ask you to meet him in real life then he is probably socially awkward or lying about himself (married, etc).
Reply:i can tell ya cos i just went through it. some people get married to people they meet online. even though i thought i knew my guy i didn't know everything, which is actually hard for me to admit. i used to talk like you. like noone could understand it, but i knew what we had. and it was true love. however, i didn't see that he wasn't the way he was with me with other people. i saw him on cam, and on the phone for hours and hours and hours, but only after 2 years did more start to come out. the passion became controlling, stuff like that. saying all that!!! that's just me hon. and i hope you two are very very happy :)
Reply:theres no way of being sure of who youre auctually dating online. giving out your phone number or address can lead to stalkers. the pictures people have of themselves might not auctually be them. what if its a 55 year old man taking pictures of his kids friends or his kids and pretending that hes young and 21? And if youre being safe, and not giving out personal information, then how do you go on dates? do you go visit chat rooms together? because thats a totally lame date, sorry to say. Im sure that if you loged off of the online dating for awhile, then you would be able to see that theres plenty of great guys that you can get to know WITHOUT the internet.
Reply:then whats the f*****g question??
Reply:it may not be,i know a lady who left her husband of 25 years, met a man on line, moved three states away last year, she says hes the best thing that ever happend to her
Reply:It's not bad. It just turns me off. One glance at a person on the street tells me more about my attraction for them than a month of spilling each others guts out online. On the other hand you can easily meet people who are available, or at least claim to be.

Online Psychology program from a real campus?

The University I go to does not have a campus near by that offers my Applied Psychology degree. So I'm taking their online program through another city. This is a real campus, not one of those for profit/degree for sale type schools.

When an Employer looks at my Resume could it be possible that they will think I did not get a legit education because its online? I'm not even sure if it will say online since its from a real school.

I'm getting an BA in Applied Psychology from City Univeristy of Renton Washington. I live in another town too far to drive every day so I opted to take thier online program.

Online Psychology program from a real campus?
No, it probably won't say it's online. I've taken many online classes through my community college and they are just regular credits. Besides, online classes are being accepted a lot more now anyway, what with all the moms going back to school and stuff.

Online School?

The state department of education has provided funding for an experimental online school. All of the classes will take place on the internet using email, online chat, and the world wide wed. The students taking classes at this new online school will never meet each other face-to-face . Do you think that 6th,7th,and 8th grade students should or shouldn't attend school online.

Online School?
To all who are against online schools. I came across an

On-Line tuition center, http://www.icedor.com which uses whiteboard, video, VOIP, application sharing, on-line quiz, chat and forums to teach and encourage group participation with student from all over the world with different cultures and background. They also offer free MCQs and Subject / Chapter base Forums to encourage all to also share their knowledge with others and learn from it.

One of the best ways to learn is trying to teach. Check them out and find out how our children can be smart, more time for themselves and lastly safe from ...

Reply:We have a business in a group of factories - in one of the factories is a 10 year old who is home schooled - he is a nice kid but has no idea how to behave like a 10 year old - sometimes he acts more like a 5 year old - he has a vivid imagination and acts out all kinds of rolls - Im not sure what he is doing but sometimes it looks like he is pretending to be a cow boy as he is running around in a circle making arm actions like he is going to throw a lasso - his mother is worried that he doesnt know how to interact with other children as he only ever hangs around us adults when we are at work - his father on the other hand doesnt agree with conventional schooling - he sets his son daily tasks or subjects that he has to research on the net and thats it the rest of the day is his to fill on his own.. I think its sad .. if his mother gets her way and he is sent to school you can just tell he will be singled out and teased.

So no I dont agree with net home schooling - I guess with the program your talking about there will at least be some structure to it unlike this child has but I still think kids need to learn how to behave and interact around other kids.
Reply:I did school online for my 8th grade year and even though you're at home and able to listen to music or whatever while doing school, I wouldn't recommend it. It was easy for me to get into a website and forget about it and hard for me to concentrate on a computer screen for so long. I didn't understand the material, especially math, that well and actually had to redo that year of math because I was so lost and confused. Overall I say, stick to the books.
Reply:i think that they shouldn't attend an online school...the fact that we go to school also helps us learn to socialize...how to work with different types of people...how to do teamwork and stuff like that. if we don't get to meet anyone in particular face to face, that practice won't be put so much in to practice.
Reply:People who know nothing about schooling at home should not answer questions here. JMO.

Which curriculum will this school use - I assume K12 (virtual academies) or Calvert (Connections Academy)? I've used K12 as an independent HS'er for my son for over 4 years and it is an *awesome* curriculum - especially in the middle school years.

Most virtual schools do have some "meet and greet" opportunities for students. They can also meet via virtual whiteboards. In addition, you can meet other HS students from local groups.

This is a great option for many. So if it fits the family and student dynamic, it can be a *wonderful* experience.

Online Master's Degree? University of Phoenix Online?

Online Master's Degree? University of Phoenix Online?
Hi

Some employers may be skeptical of any online degree, but a lot of employers are becoming more acceptable of online degrees. Your instructor should post reading assignments and other assignments on the course's website. Does the university use a course management system such as Moodle or Blackboard? If it uses either, then that is where you will go to view info about your class. If you do attend an online university, whether it is the University of Phoenix or not, make sure that it is accredited. This is what I told someone about accreditation in another question (It's the 2nd answer):

I hope this helps you and I wish you the best of luck with your degree.
Reply:Hi, Are you already enrolled in UoP? If not check out the great and accredited and well respected online master's programs offered at the University of Maryland, University College. www.umuc.edu. I am in the MS in Biotechnology Studies program. It is a challenging program. Online classes anywhere are going to involve a lot of reading , writing, and study time--probably more so than an live classroom. Still--there's not commute and you can go to class in your pj's at 3 a.m if you want. The hardest part for me so far has been the group projects--which are hard in any setting. But in the online environment some participants just put forth the effort.

Also, the online environment lowers some barriers because class members and faculty pay less attention to things like physical appearance or a foreign accent or race--because of course--no one can see you. Good luck with your studies. I love my online classes and have learned more than I would have otherwise I think.

Online applications fair?

do you think online applications are fair? i mean i guess applicants don't really have a say in the matter, but they seem to make my life alot harder. a few years ago when i filled out paper applications, i actually heard back from people. by applying online, you don't know that it's actually being recived by anyone. with all the silly tests, it can take an hour per application without the promise of so much as a phone call, and your denied the chance to make a good impression. i remember how i got all of my previous jobs, being a friendly 19 yearold girl...i would just go in, smile, speak enough to show i'm approchable and well spoken and somtimes that was enough for the person to say "well...come on back and i'll interview you". these days...i send out a dozen online apps and just don't hear back. thats like 12 hours worth of time that i will never get back. is anyone else pisssed by this? anyone else think online apps are making it harder to find work?

Online applications fair?
It depends on where you are applying.

Small businesses tend not to have online applications - larger companies do have them

The reason the larger companies have gone that direction are really two.

1. They can track their applicants for legal purposes to prove that they're not discriminating agaist anyone.

2. They can pre-screen all of the applicants for minimum qualifications before they make actual interviews

It does take the personality out of the process but it also can make things much more fair and it certainly makes it more efficient for the employer.

If you have had that many applications you've filled out with no response, you probably need to be either looking more closely at the position description (and how you're responding to what they're looking for) or you need to do a better job of describing your skills.

Good luck and I hope this helps some!
Reply:I think online applications make it easier for more people to apply (which makes the whole process more competitive) and makes it easier ffor the companies to sort out the applications. However, easier does not necessarily translate to "people friendly"

But you are not obligated to submit your application electronically. if you prefer to fill out applications in person, you can still do so.

Be aware that 90% of day-traders lose money. The odds are way against you. I recommend trying swing-trading (a few days to a few months time frame) first. The pressure is less and the timing not so quick. The exact same principles that apply to swing trading will prepare you for trading on shorter time frames. Or ... you might decide you were making enough money in swing trading to stick with it.

As for sources, check with your brokerage. Many of them make learning tools available to their clients.

Best of success.
Reply:While it may be true that 90% of daytraders lose money, 90-95% of ALL new business startups will fail within 5 years anyway. If you can master daytrading the profit potential is much greater than longer term strategies. Daytrading can be very difficult, but very rewarding as well. Report It

Online college question. Please read details!?

I want to get a couple degrees one of which I will be in school for quite a while. I was thinking about taking some online college courses to get some credits out of the way while I am attending a college or university. Would I be able to do this and easily transfer those credits I earn online to the college or university I am attending? What online colleges would let me do this? And would it even be beneficial for me to do so if I want to finish a bit quicker? (Taking classes online and in the building?) Any other info/advice/personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS!

Online college question. Please read details!?
Online courses are a great way to get nonessential requirements or elective credits out of the way. However, the school you attend may not accept the credits. The best thing to do is to find a particular online course you want to take, and then ask your adviser if the class will meet requirements. If at all possible, get the response in writing to prevent any future misunderstandings.

Many universities are now offering online courses. So, the best place to look is the school you are currently attending. If they don't have online courses, expand your search to community colleges and state universities. These courses will be the most widely accepted. However, some universities will require admittance to the school before accepting online students. It all depends upon the school. For basic level classes, search for independent study program at various schools. For example, LSU has an extensive independent study program that offers course ranging from preparatory English courses to senior level courses in History.

Good luck,
Reply:I hav taken an online course myself for the same reason. it was extremely easy, and i didnt learn anything.

if u want to finish quickly do it, but if u want to learn dont
Reply:Do you plan on doing online classes WHILE attending college? If so, why not just take those classes at the campus you are attending? Also, depending on the online college, your credits may not transfer to a university.

Online dating experiences?

Hi, I realise that online dating still has a lot of stigma attached - that's its for freaks, desperate people, it's unsafe, etc. But I have had a positive experience dating online (I met my current boyfriend through RSVP.com.au) . We've been together almost a year. I found online dating to be a lot easier than normal - you can search for exactly the kind of person you want. It's simpler and faster than hoping against hope that your soul mate happens to be in the bar you are at on any given night. Of course, there is always being safe - my man and I chatted for a couple of months before we met, and had our dates in public places, told other people where we were going etc. RSVP actually gives you safety guidelines for meeting people in the real world - so it was nice to have some tips. Turned out my man was just like I though he was from his profile ... we're very happy together. Does anyone else have some positive or negative online dating experiences they want to share?

Online dating experiences?
Ive been a system admin for internet sites for as long as its been internet. Ive had alot of involvement in this subject long before there were even official sites for it.

One answer that is kindof fun is like this:

"You dont know if they are really young, or really blonde, or really have those stats, or really even female"

"Oh yeah? Have you been to a bar recently?"

Most of the people who put down online dating consider bars or dance clubs to be the mostly likely alternative. But give them a hard time about not being able to really chat with the person, and taking them home. Then when they start taking stuff off you find out that they arent really young, arent really blonde, dont really have those stats, and arent even female.

Sure people can fake things online. But over a period of time you tend to really get to know the person. Its not infallable but its not a total failure either, and real-world meetings arent always perfect either.

Online dating?

Just curious how many people

a- have had a date with someone they met online?

b- Have had a serious relationship with someone they met online?

c- Have actually married someone that they met online?

--if the answer is c, when did you know you wanted to marry that person, was it when you started talking online or after you actually met them?

Online dating?
Yes, I had been online dating for 5 yrs. All were serious relationships. Met my husband over a year ago, and we both just knew we would get married. I think it is a great way to meet someone as long as you are careful.

Reply:b. had a serious relationship with someone I met online. I will never do online dating again.
Reply:A. I have dated someone I met online.

B. Yes, a couple have turned into serious relationships, lasting more than a year.

C. No marriage.

I find that it is incredibly odd....that first meeting. I spend quite a while getting to know a person, before dating them. Yet, there are the nuances that contribute to who someone really is....that just can't be picked up on via the internet or telephone.

So, I don't think that you can really know for sure about someone until you meet them, and spend a little time together.

Hope this is the information that you were looking for!

Good luck!

Online Japanese toy and hobby stores?

Does anyone here speak Japanese or live in Japan?

I am looking for an online Japanese store that sells toys, figures, books, dvds.

I am NOT looking for an English website that sells Japanese toys. I've already checked almost all English stores online and can't find what I'm looking for.

I need a online store that is based in Japan. What I'm looking for is Pokemon figures and toys. I've already tried Amazon Japan but they don't have it.

If you could please list some online stores in Japan that sells toys then that would be great. They don't neccessarily have to ship international as well. I already have that covered. Thanks.

Online 3D games????

Is there an online virtual 3D game out there that's as good as or better than Disney's Toontown Online, except that it's for teens/adults and it's not only a 3D chat like IMVU, but it's an actual game? I'm looking for one in which I can create my own character + outfits, and play to get stronger and win battles against monsters or maybe even other players. I really enjoy the .HACK// games, and it would be great if there was a game similar to that online. Please tell me if you know of any online games like this. Thanks.

Online 3D games????
well there is a lot of games. guild wars, world of warcraft, runescape, dance.akklaim.com, 9dragons, finalfantasy 11, unreal tournament 2004, halo 1 and 2, matrix online, gaiaonline.com and ill find some more for ya. what game system do u have and what kind of games can u play (im looking for ratings like e, teen, mature, ect.)
Reply:conquer online is a 3d mmorpg that you create a character-either archer, water toa, fire toa, warrior,or trojan.you kill monsters to level up and can kill other players.you can also make friends, make a guild,a team and can chat with anyone on there.it is a cool free game.long download though but its worth it.
Reply:dont think you'll ever find a fashion/fighting game but runscape is 3d and you fight monsters and people to get stronger

Online stores?

I have searched this site and on google for sites that might sell beer online and so far I've found bevmo, internet wines %26amp; spirits and liquid solutions,While I admit it would be easier to go to a liquor store it would just also seem good to just be able to order online with a credit card and then just pick it up at the door.I'ver read stories too about kids being able to order the stuff online and then just dropped off at the door with no checking out of the purchaser's age or anything I guess that really just contributed to the dying out of this kind of stores but I was wondering does anyone still buy their beer online?

Online stores?
I don't buy beer on-line, I do however buy whisky (single malt scotch) on-line from shops like Binny's (Chicago), D%26amp;M Wines %26amp; Liquors (San Francisco), K%26amp;L Wine Merchants (Redwood, Ca), The Wine Specialists (Washington DC), Loch Fyne Whiskies (Inveraray, Scotland) and Royal Mile Whiskies (London, England).
Reply:never have, and still don't!

School is really about the interaction between teacher and student, as well as student and student. A lot is lost in translation. It's just harder to learn when you're not receiving the individual attention (from a teacher or peers) that a classroom can provide.

Sixth to eighth grade is also a really important time for socialization. I think the kids would miss out on a very necessary stage of becoming a teenager.
Reply:My girlfriend is earning her Bachelor's degree online as we speak. She found her school through this website:

http://ecollege.better.ws

That website will help you pick out a school that's right for you and your schedule, and can even help you find a financial aid program to help cover the costs. Report It

Reply:One of my four children is using an online school and I also teach a wide variety of online classes to homeschoolers using a combination of a live, online classroom where we all meet at a designated time to activities run through our assynchronous Moodle site/

I think that the assumption that the students will no have interaction may be unfounded. Charters and virtuals do vary from one another, but most make a huge effort on the social side of things.

Our virtual has more than one fieldtrip per month where the children get to explore together. Our virtual uses Elluminate quite regularly and I also use Elluminate daily in my own online classes.

The students and teacher are actually together at the same time in the online classroom with lots of social tools such as webcam; text messaging; full duplex audio; emoticon system to communicate confusion, applause, agreement, hand raise, and 'stepped away'; a well-tooled whiteboard system. The online classroom has application sharing so I often run a program on my computer and them all work together on it. An example is an educational adventure game called Chemicus. It is a Myst-like game in which the students must use chemistry knowledge to solve a much bigger story. They work as a team and make group decisions to solve the chemical puzzles. We have video-based labs in which the students can record their labs on video and play them in the online classroom or upload them to the website for me to grade off-line. We can do virtual, interactive labs together in the classrom as a team as well.

We also run an assynchronous website for homework assignments, testing, forum discussions, wiki creation, and just goofing off together when not in the online classroom.

They also can use the Cmap system as a study group tool where they can work together to create concept maps of what they are studying in class and return to it together or independently for preparing for tests. The Cmap is really cool. You actually can see everyone's concept boxes and links appearing and moving around as the class builds it. The Cmap has a built in text chat, but the kids usually use Yahoo Messenger voice so they can hear each other or use the Elluminate online classroom and application sharing to work together. Best of all, I can log on to their Cmap and see where they may be missing or have a concept connection wrong. It is a way for me to sort of 'see into their brains' to see what they retained and if they understand the relationships well.

I always schedule in time for visiting at the begining of class time for those who log in on time and if we finish early I have loads of whiteboard games that the kids freely go to to play together. They chose the games and go to the screens and just begin a game of Muggins, Battleship, Pente, Mastermind, Boxes, etc. Sometimes the kids just use the game time and the text messaging system to chat a while. As the teacher I can watch any chat or game screen I want to. I can be called on via the mic any time one of the students needs help.

When I look back at how much opportunity I had for socialization in school and what these kids get. I think they are pretty lucky. They really get to know each other well and can be from all different places from all over the world. we have had students from Canada, California, Arkansas, South Carolina, Oregon, and more.
Reply:I do not think that they have the discipline nor the maturity to be successful in online classes unless they are very interactive and exciting. Even though that generation is comfortable with computers, it still takes a lot of discipline and concentration to get through online classes. What's also difficult is many online classes are not designed with their needs in mind. They are just sites with downloadable information and students are to return assignments when complete. I am not sure that online learning has evolved to a point that can hold the interest of middle school students so that most of them can be successful. On the otherhand, if there are opportunities for the students to share face-to-face and to explore through community adventures, and they have support at home, it might work. I am sorry that I am not more optomistic. However, for students who need an alternative setting, this is an option.
Reply:i think they shouldn't attend online school. For 6th, 7th, and 8th class structure is very important for there learning.

why online is not good:

1. mostly likely kids won't do there work and will forget

2. they will not be able to connect with the other kids and teacher

3. Not be able to get a clear answer to there questions

4. Not be able to get good help for something they don't understand

Online schooling?

-Is it legal in any state?

-How is it like?

-Where can I find Online schooling sites for the state of SC?

-Does it save your online schooling records so you can graduate?

-Do you have to do it during the summer too?

I'm asking this because I wanna do at least one year of Online schooling then 'go' to the actual non-online High school the next year. And I want to know if they can pass you into the next grade IN the actual school, even though you didn't actually 'go' to school that other year.

Online schooling?
No because its perfectly fine here (im in cali and ive done it before)

its great! One drawback is that you MAY not get as much excercise unless you get out and do things a little more often than usual, but when i was doin it i worked out like all the time so it was all good.

Hmm...not sure, you may want to look up your school district to find out the info

yeah i think, mine are actually still in the system from like 7th - 8th grade

nope, mine basically let you do the work at your own pace, so you decide when you do it (beware if you slip up you can get behind)

yep they can actually, i was online schooled for..i think 6th grade.

then the next year i simply went to the school in my area as a normal 7th grader, simple as that

oh and i dont think you have to pay but it depends on the program.

mine was ALL through the website, there wasnt a need for books, it gave the lessons and the work all in the same place
Reply:As far as I know public on line schooling is only in FL and one other state.

There are private systems. Some paid, some free.
Reply:online schools can be a good resource for homeschoolers. Do a google search for online schools. The school DOES NOT have to be in the same state that you reside in and most of the online schools keep a transcript of your grades that is easily transfered to a regular school when you choose to attend one.
Reply:I recieved my AA from university of phoenix and I was able to attend another university for my bachelors. There are a lot of ways to pay for school, grants, scholarships and federal aid. Good luck
Reply:It is legal. Online high schools are pretty cool. I go to one myself. If you've never been homeschool, depending on the school, you have to exercise self-discipline and make sure you turn in your work yourself. The school should have your records so that you can graduate. You do not have to do it during the summer. Summer school is an option or you can take classes at a junior college. Oh and the school probably will allow you to take a certain number of units at a junior college for free. They count as college and high school credits.

I go to a online school called California Virtual Academy. They have it in many states. ex) Ohio Virtual Academy, Florida Virtual Academy. I don't know if they have one in SC, but you should check it out.
Reply:I go to the morningstar academy it's avaliable for every state.(www.themorningstaracademy.org) It's accredited so you will get a diploma after you graduate. You get books sent through the mail and you do your work online, you send your written answers through a email box in your class page. You can order a portfolio of all of your work at the end of each year. No, you do not have to do it during the summer but they do offer summer programs.
Reply:Iv been in home-school for about, id say .. 3 years. Its legal. and its great. I have alot of time to do Anything i want. And i can get to my work later at night. or later in the day. Just as long as you can get your work in on time. whenever it may be due.

If your wondering how to hook it up. I suggest you ask your school. Maybe a teacher you get along with. if ur comfortable with your principle. Maybe ask him or her for some help.

It does save your schooling records. Its like moving to a new school. Once you've UN registered from Ur old school. And when you register to a new one. The new one asks for your old school info. So they can try and work something out to transfer all your files. And your old school Its the law to keep your school transcripts up to 10 years. So that shouldn't be a problem when you transfer.

No you don't have to in the summer. But if you did it helps alot. Its just like normal school Without going to a actual school ? It doesn't suck going to summer school over on-line. Cause you do it on your own time. Feel me ?

An on-line school is just like a regular school.. Its got homework similar. Its got all the subjects. It gives you credits. Its a normal thing. Alot of kids do this. Ive done it. Why cant you ? You can graduate from on line schooling. It gives you the same education as a real school. Just don't fall off course. Keep your education skill. Stay attention on all your subjects. Don't fool around Just cause you don't go to a real school. It all works out great.

Ive also listed two on line homeschooling sites. That works good. Iv went to both of them.
Reply:Homeschooling is great thing. I'm in junior high as is my sis. And and my brother is in high school. All 3 of us are taking online homeschooling. Me and my sister go too Calvert Online Homeschooling. My brother goes to KeyStone Online Homeschooling. Keystone is for 9th grade and up. Calvert I think takes any age. Here's a link to KeyStone since that's a highschool: http://www.keystonehighschool.com/

Yes you have to pay for books. But the good news is that they have online tutors to help your kids. They have online 'resources' such as an online dictionary, study guide, and math help. You can even make them send speacial kits that you child wants to learn. My sister wanted to learn French, so Calvert sent her a kit full of French CD's to learn from. I wanted to do art; Calvert sent me an art kit full of paper, pencils, art erasers. These aren't just for fun, it's part of there schooling. There's lots of different things on Calvert for them to do. If you choose, your kids can interact over the internet using Calvert to talk to other kids. The kids may help each other. There is a teacher present when this happens. They could have online discussions. With the teachers, they can give kids reviews on what they've learned. I would tell you about KeyStone Highschool Online Homeschooling, but I know nothing about it. Just go to this link (the same): http://www.keystonehighschool.com/

No you do not have to use it during the summer.

It is legal in states.

Homeschooling is great; kids are away from distractions and other things that might disturb them when trying to learn. You'd have to fly to the actual school though, Calvert is in Baltimore and Keystone Highschool is in Pennsylvania. Good Luck!
Reply:yes its legal

you are at home

it should save it

Online Diploma / Study Law Or Legal Assistant?

I am interested in becoming a legal assistant / paralegal or lawyer. Is it possible to do the paralegal diploma first and if I think that I can learn more, than I could study law? Won’t I have to start from the beginning because I will have the basic knowledge from the paralegal school?

I want to find an online school because there is no school near enough were I am living. I found one but the school is not accredited. I asked the Stratford Career Institute via e-mail. They wrote:

"SCI is a member of the following organizations: the International

Council for Distance Education, the District of Columbia Licensure

Commission, the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the Better Business Bureau in Vermont. Our license or registration with these organizations is not an accreditation, however."

How can I find an accredited online school to study for a paralegal diploma? Is it also possible to study law online?

Are online diplomas valuable / accredited?

Online Diploma / Study Law Or Legal Assistant?
University of London's external (distance learning) programme in law is excellent. It is not entirely online, though. You will have to take final exams physically at the nearest British Council.
Reply:There are so many online! One I found and may look into is Herzing it offers these classes on line and it is acccredited and if you qualify you can get financial aid to assist with the tuition.

Online classes?

I am thinking about taking online/mail study courses to get a degree or atleast begin my study to become a nutritionist and fitness expert.

My question is have any of you have experience or know anything about these online couses? Are they logit? Do you recieve the credibility as you would if you had recieved your degree through any other school? And my main question is, are the degrees or any of the credits you may recieve from doing these online classes transferable? Like, if I chose to begin my study with online and then decided later to finish at a college, will any of that transfer to college, or would it be like starting from scratch?

Online classes?
On-Line universities are usually For Profit corporations that are not selective. Many are accredited locally but lack any kind of prestigious national accreditation. Many employers will not take a degree from an on-line university very seriously.

Their cost is usually less than Private Universities, but much more expensive than State Universities.

The best known on-line university is The University of Phoenix. They were recently charged a record $9.8MM fine by the department of education for sleazy recruiting practices. They are currently under investigation for padding their placement numbers. A recent NY Times Article discussed their many problems -- including the fact that companies like Intel have decided to refuse to pay for their employees to attend U of P because they feel that their standards are too low.

Reply:If you want to start online classes take them through a local college. Many community colleges or state colleges offer courses online. When you complete these they will most likely transfer. If you take them make sure you keep the syllabus and course description this will sometimes help you transfer credits to a school out of state.

I've taken online course through a community college and they did transfer to the state college I'm at now. Online course can be very easy because they allow you to spend as more or little time on a topic as you need. Just be aware that they do require self-motivation.

Online college anyone doing it know soeone who does? i enrolled??? i need help?

i wouldnt wanna cheat becaus ei wanna learn of course/

what about the work is it good? it it like in regular schooling???

fmu is accredited but will i still get a job after getting my bachelors???

help any advice how is your online school going

Online college anyone doing it know soeone who does? i enrolled??? i need help?
I am currently finishing my Bachelor degree in HR through Baker College On line. I have done both and I can tell you that it is a lot harder on line. You will see you have a lot more written homework and you may have participation that needs to happen several days a week. As far as tests are concerned my school gives tests as open book but they are timed. So if you don't know your stuff you won't be able to answer the questions in time. Also they tend to ask more obscure questions that you really needed to study the chapter to grasp.

Your degree will be just as valuable as long as it is an accredited university. Most of the time I have seen that the college uses the same diploma format for their on line and on campus students.
Reply:The only advice I got you'd better not take a student loan out to pay for that school. You'll never pay it off.

Online Business?? Please help a struggling college student!?

I am a 19 year old college student with a bit of a problem :/

Problem: I work a full time job at a warehouse, where everyday I seem to be breaking my back just to pay the bills. I get home very tired and feel like my school work suffers. I support myself and rent a single room, pay for gas, food etc. just like everyone else.

Question: Is there some way I can make money online that pays decent and is NOT a scam? I have a lot of internet experience, I can type 60wpm. I learn very quickly and

I DO expect to actually work for my money, just….. online

This seems better for me so I can have more time to study. And I am not looking for some get rich quick scheme, I only need to make around 1000$ a month to cover necessities

I have seen these “drop shipping” and “data entry” jobs and “online businesses” and

I just don’t know what’s right for me

Online Business?? Please help a struggling college student!

Online Business?? Please help a struggling college student!?
Well, you could check out that SMC thing Tom Bosley from Happy Days is spokesperson for....

But why not just start you own little business. Go the entrepreneurial route.

If you're good a typing and have a strong command of word processor and publishing programs on your computer, start a publishing service. Nothing big or fancy. Resumes, newsletters, maybe even offer typing services to other college students on research papers.

All that would take is a little advertising on campus or setting up a little website for advertising and contact purposes. Start-up expenses shouldn't be too demanding for your budget.

Another option is offering freelance clerical/secretarial assistance to businesses. Again a website would help.

You might also check your local small business bureau on any requirements you'd have to meet to operate as a sole-proprietor business.

Hope that helps.

P.S. - Though your goal of $1,000 may seem excessive to some answerers, don't let their voices become splinters of doubt in your mind.

Here's a little exercise that might help:

Set your goals. Envision yourself already having accomplished them (really put yourself into that moment in your mind). Then, as if looking back from that perspective on the process, imagine how you got there. What path did you take to get there? What pitfalls do you imagine having happened that you overcame.

Then, (like Nike says) just do it.

Good luck.
Reply:I understand your pain but setting goals of "need to make around 1000$ a month to cover necessities" probably is shooting a bit too high for now, one option would be to find another part-time job that pays about the same but not requires lots of physical activity like working at Starbucks, hence you won't too tired to study after work. Then, think about selling some good stuff (product or service) to your fellow students, and make some extra money, but make sure what you sell has real value, or you'll lose friends.

Reply:I own my own marketing business...

I advertise and promote internet purchases from

companies and they pay percentages for the profits made..

You have a couple ways of making money...the ones I use are selling the product myself and getting more people into the business it self...

P.S. really good for long term also...
Reply:Well their is really no online job that pays around the amount said. I have a sister that is 19 and she makes around $120 a day working as a waitress.

So maybe getting into the restaurant business wouldn't be such a bad idea. But make sure its a busy restaurant you would want some good tips $$$.

Good luck!!

:)
Reply:People have told me a lot about an online travel business called YTB (www.ytb.com) It is where you have your own travel website (they set it up and maintain it for you) and you make 60% of each trips commision. So if someone took a $4,000 cruise, you make around $400. I haven't done it yet, but you should look on their website, maybe it's for you.
Reply:I am an affiliate for a web hosting company. I go to USF, so I definitely know what you are talking about.

We're geared towards taking websites into local businesses. Since more people are buying online, it gives them the opportunity to take advantage of that market. I make about 5-8 sales per week. I cant give you exact commission but my average per week is about $400. On a bad week it could be $200.

This program is kinda make money online.

It doesn't cost anything to sign up, and you don't "have to" buy a product.

But if you work hard in your spear time, or make it full time, you can make some serious cash. Payments are made via Paypal.

It cant hurt to check it out.

Online Degrees good for hire?

I heard many stories about online schools: "they are good, they are bad, they are accredited, yes, they count, no they dont count"...regardless of what is said about the online schools, how do employers or big corporations carry it out when hiring someone with an online degree? do they count? has actually anyone graduated from an online school and gotten a job?....

I asked a business owner about this...and his reply was:

"Yeah, by all the other suckers who paid their money to get a quick and easy degree for little or no effort. But, if you came to my office to apply for a job with one of those "degrees", I'd call the janitor to sweep you and you useless paper work OUT of my building. God Bless you"....

what do you think??

Online Degrees good for hire?
Unless the degree is from a nationally accredited school, it is not worth the paper it is printed on.

For example University of Phoenix offers on-line degrees that are properly accredited.

Most of these other schools "accreditation" is from some fictitious international organization and thus is bogus here in the states.
Reply:I think the best strategy is to go to a local college that you know is well respected and acredited, you can usually take a bunch of classes online but take a few classes in person if you can, most of your classes will be online but your degree won't show it.

Plus you could ask the college what their policies are, Do they distinguish between degrees earned online verses degrees earned by sitting through class? if so how many online classes can you count toward an "in-class" degree? Ask these questions because you might find that there is no difference between an online degree and an "in-class" degree so when you apply for jobs you wouldn't even need to tell your employer your degree was online.
Reply:Some people have the impression that online degrees all come from diploma mills. And some do. But anyone who makes a blanket statement like the business owner you quoted hasn't bothered to inform himself.

Many respected brick-and-mortar institutions now offer online degrees. I'm doing my master's online at Penn State. My diploma/transcript won't note the fact that I never set foot on the campus because it's not relevant. I'm meeting Penn State standards on my coursework, and that's what my degree will show. So your business owner wouldn't even know I earned an online degree unless I volunteered the information.

CUNY (City Univ. of NY) offers an online BA. Someone here referred to U of Maryland's program. Boston College, Notre Dame, Indiana State, Northeastern and Northwestern, and many more also have accredited online programs. (See http://www.elearners.com/colleges/index.... for about 100 more.) These "name" universities aren't risking their reputations by churning out "quick and easy degrees". Any employer worth working for has the critical thinking skills to know that.

I work for a large university (yes, one that offers an online degree in addition to its face-to-face programs). We recently interviewed and hired someone with a distance master's degree from a respected institution for a tutoring center coordinator position. While the job has nothing to do with our online degree program, we felt her online experience was a plus: her experience will be useful as the university continues to evolve in the 21st century, not only with e-learning, but other e-services as well.

About that business owner, all I can say is that when you talk to employers, remember you're not the only one interviewing. You are showing them if you're worth hiring; they're showing you if they're worth working for.
Reply:I think they are worthless.
Reply:Well, it all comes down to the competition for the position. If you have two applicants - one with an on-line degree and one from Harvard, who would you hire?
Reply:Employers couldn't care less about degrees from ANY source. They care about what you KNOW. HOW you learned makes little difference. Many employers would rather find a good PERSON and do the training in house.
Reply:Depends. Who I hire someone who took classes from "Boris College Online"? Probably not. University of Phoenix online? Probably. Depends on whether they are well known for reliable degrees.
Reply:I think you wouldn't want to work for that jerk anyway!

The vast majority of companies will accept and even think highly of a online degree provided that it is from accredited school. I have half of one (still in progress) from the University of Maryland's distance learning program. Everyone I have dealt with thinks it is great because not only is it just as good of an education but I am completing it while working and raising a child. It tells them a lot about priorities and responsibility.

I have to work much harder in those classes then I ever did as an undergrad at a traditional college.

Besides degrees are the least of what an employer looks for. They are far more interested in you work experience, references, and accomplishments at previous employers. They would much rather hire someone with an online degree and excellent recommendations and relevent experience then someone fresh out of any traditional college with little to no experience.
Reply:Online degrees count as much as any other. All crediable schools have online programs and it is especially convient if you are working at the same time. These degrees take just as much effort and time. And on given days with some programs you are still able to meet with class mates. It was totally inappropiate for someone to tell you otherwise.
Reply:I hear unless you bring it up they won't know. It be a good idea to just say that you went to the school. I find it funny how the people with money and time, are able to go to school get more respect then the people who struggle to keep their family together on the beans the call a paycheck. Go to school online and get dismissed.
Reply:I agree. I think that unless the online coursework came from an institution that didn't solely exist on cyberspace then I'd not give the person as much credit.

Online College vs Traditional classroom College??

I just earn 24 credits in 10 months at an online college. I was just curious how many you can earn at a traditional college in 10 months?

I didn't know if earning these many credits was normal or can you get more credits in 10 months at a regular classroom college? I'm trying to get my Teaching Degree by taking classes online.

How do you feel about Online classes vs Traditional College, what are the advantages and disadvantages when it comes to credits and obtaining your degree.

Has anyone had any problems with online classes or anything?

Online College vs Traditional classroom College??
To add to what the others have posted... It's up to you how many hours you earn in a semester (or a quarter). I attended schools with both semester and quarter hours... in quarter hours (4 quarters/yr), I always took 4 classes a quarter = 20 quarter hours... in semesters (3 semesters/yr), I would take 5-6 classes a semester = 15 to 18 semester hours.

Online courses are not easy, in spite of how easy it seems. As the other person posted, you have to be self-motivated. It's all too easy to blow off a regular schedule when working in an online environment, because there's nothing/no one to push you to sit down on a regular basis and do your work. Like any higher ed course work, you fall behind, you're doomed. In a traditional setting, you have to answer for your lack of work when you meet for classes, but not so in online. That's the biggest issue with online classes - pushing yourself.

If you are highly motivated and disciplined, you'll fly through classes. The only thing holding you back will be the number of classes you can take per term. If the school is accredited, there is no difference in online and traditional.

Good luck!
Reply:I'm on the quarter system and on average, I take 16 units per quarter (sometimes less sometimes more). Last year I earned almost 50...but then again quarter units need to be converted to semester units.

I've taken a few online classes...maybe 4 or 5. I find that if you really want to learn, you should take classroom courses. I take online classes for G.E. courses that I know I don't need to be there for. However, for my major classes, I don't think twice about taking a classroom course because that information is so crucial to obtain first-hand.
Reply:I would say 24 credits is about average- most people at a traditional college take 12-16 units a semester.

Online classes are great if you are self-motivated. Traditional classes are great if you learn more by interacting with other people- study groups, etc. Everyone has different learning styles, but I would say that the social benefits of a traditional setting are an added necessity. If you are going for a teaching degree, you should now check out a classroom where you can experience different types of pedagogy and form your own opinions on this very matter.
