Online or University?

I have a nearby 4 year university that doesn't really have want I want, and truthfully isn't a great school anyways, I have better options online through regionally accredited schools such as Regent Univ. and Kaplan with a major in Government or Legal Studies with Pre-Law at the latter. I live in a rural area, and cannot afford the cost of living near the University and commuting an hour to college(after commuting for 2 1/2 years, 30 minutes away for my associates), I don't feel like I can do it anymore! Plus I have a part time job where I live. So I'm thinking online. My question is how do employers view online? I am pretty computer saavy and have a 3.6 GPA so my study habits wouldn't be a problem, just worried about wasting money and time(at either online or the university). Thanks!

Online or University?
Think long-term, otherwise you're wasting time and money. Find out what your opportunities are for the on-line degree you are looking for. Do you have any companies/employers in mind? You may want to ask around and see how your industry feels about on-line degrees. Also, if you are planning to go to grad school or law school, ask the schools you are interested in about their view of on-line degrees.

Personally, I'd only go to a University for the higher degree, but you may be saving a lot of money in the long run with an on-line degree for undergrad, if this is your option.

For the most part, employers are still on the fence about the credibility of on-line degrees, especially in the field of law. Plus, the ability to network and find additional opportunities at a University is a major asset.

Overall, you should weigh your options more and always remember to think about your long term benefits - that's the reason why you're pursuing a degree in the first place.
Reply:online schools are not as credible, and you don't get as good of an education...I really suggest going to a university over an online program.
Reply:The biggest problem with an online school is that it may not be an accredited school, so your hard work and diploma from them can be worthless. Before you sign up for any online school you will need to find out if your state has given it an accreditation. Many of the online schools who have been accredited list that in their faq or you can call the State Board of Education in your state. Good luck.
Reply:University if you can get yourself a placement at one.
